Most issues are permissions-related

If DreamDisk isn't scanning correctly, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access and ensure DreamDisk is enabled.

Frequently asked questions

DreamDisk says I need to grant permissions — what do I do?

Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders (or Full Disk Access) and make sure DreamDisk is listed and enabled. Without these permissions, DreamDisk cannot read your file system.

How fast does DreamDisk scan?

DreamDisk typically scans 500k–1M items in 4–6 seconds. On very large disks with millions of items, it may take slightly longer, but the visualization starts populating immediately as scanning begins.

Will DreamDisk delete my files without asking?

No. DreamDisk never deletes files automatically. You must explicitly drag files to the Junkyard and then confirm deletion. You're always in control.

Does DreamDisk work on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3)?

Yes, DreamDisk is a universal binary and runs natively on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

What macOS version is required?

DreamDisk requires macOS 13 Ventura or later.
